This research publication is a contribution to cross-disciplinary research regarding the mutuality between humans and our socio-physical environment. From within a framework of environmental and ecological psychology, it advocates for a situated approach to the study of social aspects of everyday life in the built environment. The main focus is the relationship between architectural design and the possibilities it creates for social interactions among users, or what is known as affordances for sociality.
